Notice of Severe Weather Trading

in Hong Kong Securities and Derivatives Markets

(With effect from 23 September 2024)

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEX”) has decided to allow Hong Kong’s securities and derivatives markets to remain open during severe weather conditions from 23 September 2024. Under severe weather conditions, HKEX will maintain trading, clearing and settlement operations. The Shanghai-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, derivatives holiday trading and after-hours trading sessions will also operate as usual.

Severe weather conditions include:

1.     The announcement of Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above by the Hong Kong Observatory, or

2.     The announcement of a Black Rainstorm Warning, or

3.    The announcement of "extreme conditions" by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.

Under the severe weather conditions, BOCOM International Securities Limited’s (“BOCOM Securities”) internet trading, clearing and settlement services will remain normal, but all on-site services will be suspended. BOCOM Securities hereby notifies client of the relevant arrangements and measures as follows:

Limitation of service

To ensure safety, BOCOM Securities’ office will not open to the public during severe weather conditions and BOCOM Securities will adopt remote working and the use of online services. Accordingly, the services which are handled by staff in person (including but not limit to the following) will be suspended or postponed (where applicable) during severe weather conditions:

Amendment of client agreement

In order to accommodate trading under severe weather conditions, the Securities Trading Client Agreement (as amended and / or supplemented), Future’s Client Agreement and Stock Options Trading Supplemental Client Agreement between BOCOM Securities / BOCOM International Asset Management Limited and clients has been amended, effective from 23 September 2024.
