Legal Counsel, AVP

Position: AVP
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsibilities will be drafting, reviewing and providing feedback on legal documentation related to the business of the company and back office functions as necessary;
2. Participate in and provide legal advice/opinions on various internal committees covering the various lines of businesses and contribute to the overall corporate governance framework to protect the firm’s reputation;
3. Formulate and revise policies and guidelines and coordinate with the relevant departments to conform to legal and regulatory requirements;
4. Liaise with external counsel where necessary on litigation matters.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB), completed PCLL and admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong with 2-5 years PQE preferred;
2. one year or above experience gained from major law firm or financial institutions; 3. Experience in corporate, commercial and SFC regulated activities preferred;
4. Motivated, self-starter, responsible and responsive to business needs;
5. Willing to learn new things and apply skills to various areas;
6. Strong legal writing skills in both Chinese and English;
7. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese with fluency in Mandarin;
8. Proficiency in reading or writing simplified Chinese an added advantage.
